Ooh strawberry and banana popsicles! They’re definitely not just for the kids but they are a great healthy treat for small people and a brilliant way to up their fruit intake. I’ve used the same strawberry popsicle recipe for years now for the reluctant teen and he’s not grown out of them yet although we have started to experiment with some new flavours. He’s a bit keen on my blueberry recipe ones too now.
I’m a huge fan of getting kids involved in the kitchen and these popsicles are so easy to make. With just 4 ingredients, they’re a great way to have fun time together in the kitchen and the kids will learn something new too!
All you need for this strawberry popsicle recipe is a banana, some strawberries, vanilla yoghurt and a spoonful of natural agave nectar. No preservatives/additives, no refined sugar and bags of healthy vitamins. Yummy!
The banana, yoghurt and agave nectar go into a food processor for a quick blitz until the banana is well mashed, before adding in the strawberries. Then you get to decide – if you want to keep some strawberry chunks, just blend for a moment. If your kids are little and you want a fully blended popsicle, keep blending until smooth. We love to find little those little chunks of strawberry in ours!
Pour the mixture into popsicle molds like these, secure the lids and place them in the freezer for 5 to 8 hours until frozen. That’s the hardest bit!
When you’re ready to eat one of the popsicles, run the end of the mold under a warm tap for a moment, then it will slide out easy-peasy, ready to enjoy.
